Part of the mission of APPR is to offer assistence to Puerto Ricans that come to Houston in need of medical treatment. Many people arrive in Houston alone and face a variety of difficulties. Those who do not come with family or friends often have a hard time getting around town because they are unfamiliar with the area or due to economic difficulties.
For this reason, we have created a program called ASISTE. This program utilizes volunteers to help patients and their families. You may ask yourself how you can help. The answer is simple. Volunteering can be as simple as calling a patient to see how they are doing or donating a few groceries. Participate with us and make a difference.
